Yamagata Prefecture has announced that it has been confirmed that men in their 60s who work at accommodations in Kamiyama City are infected with the new coronavirus. It is the second person to be infected in the prefecture, and this is the first time that a person living in the prefecture has been infected.
A new case of infection was found in a man in his 60s living in the city, working as a cook in charge of a lodging facility in Kamiyama City called “Hanakarino Yadotsuki Pond”.
According to the prefecture, the man had a general malaise on the 23rd of last month, complained of fever of 38 degrees on the 27th of last month, and went to a medical institution. Even after 30 days, the fever did not decrease, and after consulting a health center, I visited the “New Corona Infectious Disease Outpatient” and received a negative test.
However, on the 31st, he was hospitalized at an infectious disease designated medical institution in the prefecture and was tested positive again.
It is the second person to be confirmed to be infected with the new virus in the prefecture, the first person living in the prefecture.
Men are hospitalized at a medical facility in the prefecture and their medical condition is stable. Also, there is no history of traveling abroad or acting outside the prefecture during the month before the onset.
According to the prefecture, there are currently eight close contacts, including four family members and four employees working in the same kitchen, all of which are tested by the prefecture for viruses.
