The Ministry of Solidarity and Health announced in a press release this Friday that taxis and other VTCs will be free for nursing staff, for journeys between their home and their place of work. This measure, already announced by Emmanuel Macron in his speech of March 16, aims to facilitate the movement of caregivers during confinement, especially due to the reduction in the supply of public transport, reports BFM TV.

"Concretely, the personnel counted benefit from this service without advance of costs, their establishments taking payment for the races at their expense upon presentation of the invoices," details the press release. "Each month, they will send their Primary Health Insurance Fund (CPAM) their invoice accompanied by individual supporting documents for reimbursement, according to a model agreement that the general management of healthcare provision (DGOS) will very soon put disposition.

Device open to nursing students

"It can also be used, in a complementary way, VTC platforms in dense urban areas", explains the press release. All the staff of hospitals and medico-social establishments, public and private, can benefit from this gratuity if they need to go to work.

Lastly, the ministry indicates that "this device could be opened to the students who take part in the care of patients". The government's objective is to do everything possible to make life easier for carers, whose work is vital in this period of health crisis.
