[Explanation] On the afternoon of March 30, a sudden fire broke out in the mountain forest on the west side of Minshan, Xichang City, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Due to the strong wind, some buildings below the mountain were directly threatened. Subsequently, more than 1,200 local people were evacuated. After fighting through the rescue forces all night, on the morning of the 31st, the reporter looked over the hillside of Laoshan Mountain. As far as I could see, the open flames in the forest had disappeared. There were still a few smoke spots on the scene. The fire rescue forces were extinguishing the smoke spots by helicopter.
[Explanation] It is understood that Laoshan, where the forest fire occurred, is located in the southwest of Xichang City, and Erhai Lake at the foot of the mountain forms the famous Erhai Laoshan Scenic Area. The fire poses a serious threat to a number of building facilities at the foot of the Laoshan Mountain, including the Madaochangkou liquefied gas station with a storage capacity of 800 cubic meters. The nearest line of fire was less than 100 meters from the gas storage tank.

Outside the fence of the LPG station, several workers are sawing trees and widening the isolation zone. Wen Zonghua, deputy head of the Sichuan Panzhihua Fire Rescue Detachment, who participated in the on-site disposal, said that 32 people of their detachment arrived at the liquefied gas station at 12 o'clock in the middle of the night and put into emergency disposal with 50 members of the Liangshan Forest Fire Detachment.

[Explanation] The Liangshan Agricultural School is also seriously threatened by the fire. The fire line was only a few meters away from the school dormitory recently. Yang Qian, a political instructor at the Chang'an Road Fire Station in Sichuan Liangshan Fire Rescue Division, who dealt with the fire in the school, told reporters that the local mountain forests are mainly pine and eucalyptus, and the oil produced after burning exacerbated the fire.
