Ehime Prefecture Five new cases infected, four of them attending nights and funerals in Matsuyama city March 31st 11:40

Ehime Prefecture announced on March 31 that five new people in the prefecture have been confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus. Four of them were attending night-time and funerals in Matsuyama City, and the prefecture is examining whether there was any other outbreak.

According to Ehime Prefecture, five new men and women in their 50s and 80s living in Matsuyama City were newly infected with the new coronavirus.

Four of them were attending a wake-up or funeral in Matsuyama on the 22nd and 23rd of this month. All were hospitalized and three had symptoms such as fever and malaise.

In addition, because men in Tokyo who had already been infected were also present at the night and funeral, the prefecture is examining for any other cases of infection, assuming that the infection was a mass infection.

In addition, a man in his 70s went on a day trip to Tokyo on the 12th of this month, and later developed symptoms of pneumonia.

As a result, nine people were confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus in Ehime Prefecture.
