326 people were repatriated from Morocco by ferry by the company Balearia, which chartered a ship for the occasion. After 40 hours of sailing from Tangier, they landed this Tuesday morning in the port of Sète.

They were tourists stranded for several days in Morocco, most of them motorhomes: The ferry had on board 326 people (164 motorhomes, 37 trailers and 2 light vehicles), including 73 foreigners .

"A very strict medical protocol"

"Very specific health conditions have been enacted," says the Hérault prefecture, in charge of this repatriation operation led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A medical check-up took place on boarding. The tests did not detect any passenger positive for coronavirus. A medial presence was ensured on board and information on the state of health of each passenger was taken two hours before docking in Sète.

96 people from the ARS, Sdis, the national police, the gendarmerie, customs, air and border police and the Red Cross were mobilized. They carried out a medical check on each passenger upon their arrival at the port of Sète. "No suspect case has been detected", "each of them was then able to reach his home," said the prefecture.
