Fans of the adventure game Beijing Express , 15 years old this year, will be disappointed (and disappointed). After the mid-March announcement of the end of filming, host Stéphane Rotenberg announced that the broadcast of the next season this summer was "compromised".

“We made very few shows. We had to come back when the situation became really too complicated and therefore there, we will be very very late. We hope to leave as soon as the conditions are met, but there, the production of the next season - which was supposed to be for this summer - for once is compromised ", said Stéphane Rotenberg on the air of On remake TV on RTL Saturday March 28.

Priority to health

"We have a few boxed shows, but very very few," added the host, pessimistic for the future: "When we can leave, we will not be able to leave overnight, it's very complex. "

Monday March 16, M6 had announced on Twitter the suspension of season 14 due to the coronavirus epidemic: "Stop shooting of Beijing Express. The health of the pairs and the technical teams being the priority, the shooting of the next season is stopped ”.

Eleven months of preparation

The Beijing Express game features a dozen pairs who must hitchhike thousands of kilometers, with less than a euro per day and per person. And this, without knowing in advance their point of departure and their destination.

The show, which gathered more than two million viewers on average last year, requires eleven months to produce each season, including six months to prepare the stages in the greatest secrecy, obtain the authorizations of the countries crossed and select the pairs from the mountain of applications (around 40,000 per year). As for filming, it mobilizes around a hundred people every day.
