At Kyoto Sangyo University, where eight students have been infected with the new coronavirus, it has been confirmed that male students in their twenties who have new homes in Wakayama Prefecture are also infected. The male student was participating in a farewell party for a university seminar where multiple infected individuals were identified.

According to Wakayama Prefecture, newly infected cases were male students in their 20s who went to Kyoto Sangyo University in Kyoto City and had a home in Wakayama Prefecture.

The boy student graduated from Kyoto Sangyo University this month, but this month he had participated in a farewell party for a university seminar where multiple infected cases have been identified so far.

The male student complained of fever and other symptoms on the 25th and returned to his home in the prefecture, but the prefecture contacted by Kyoto City conducted a virus test and found positive.

The male students are planning to work as teachers at schools in the prefecture from April. They visited the schools they plan to work last week and also participated in teacher-related seminars held in Tanabe City.

In the prefecture, we will proceed with virus tests and observation of the health of those who come into contact with students.

In Wakayama Prefecture, 18 people have been infected with the new coronavirus, including one who died.
