Xinhua News Agency, Guangzhou, March 30th (Reporter Wu Tao) The Guangzhou Railway Group confirmed that the T179 train from Jinan to Guangzhou derailed when it was running into Quzhou, Hunan at 11.40 on the 30th. Preliminary investigations revealed that the derailment was caused by a train crashing into a landslide mountain caused by successive rains.

According to the Guangzhou Railway Group, the T179 train belongs to the Guangzhou Railway Group. Due to the continuous rainfall, a line collapse occurred in the downward section of the Beijing-Guangzhou line from Matianxu to Qifengdu Station. The driver of the train took emergency braking measures and the train hit the collapse. The mountain body caused the first generator car to catch fire after the machine, and the second to sixth cars were off-line and capsized.

According to the Guangzhou Railway Group, rescue work has begun, and injured railway employees and passengers have been sent to hospital for treatment. The specific cause is under investigation.
