Some media recently reported that according to the EIA, Zhanjiang wording appeared in multiple places in the environmental impact report of the Shenzhen Bay Channel Dredging Project (Phase 1), which was suspected of plagiarizing the Zhanjiang Channel Dredging Project EIA.

The website of the South China Sea Ocean Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences released a statement on the 29th that after preliminary investigation, the South China Sea Ocean Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences undertook the Shenzhen Bay Channel Dredging Project (Phase 1) environmental impact assessment work. Conducted site surveys, surveyed and collected information on the marine environment and ecological status of the Shenzhen Bay, and performed relevant numerical simulation calculations. However, in some qualitative analysis, the previously completed report was used as a template, and uncompleted reports were submitted. The draft of the report was used as publicity materials, which led to the existence of a lot of "Zhanjiang" words. Some of the analysis included Zhanjiang Port and related planning.
