France today recorded 292 new deaths from the Corona virus, which raises the total death toll in this country to 2606, according to Director-General of Health Jerome Salomon.

The Director General of Health, Jerome Salomon, announced today that 292 additional deaths from the Corona virus have been registered in France within 24 hours, raising the total death toll in this country to 2606.

According to the new toll, 19,354 injured people are in hospitals, among them 4,632 are in the intensive care department, while seven thousand and 132 patients have been able to return to their homes.

On the other hand, French Health Minister Olivier Ferrand said Saturday that his country asked China to provide it with "more than a billion" protective masks to counter the outbreak of the Corona virus.

The minister pointed out that "a close and dense air bridge is established between France and China in a way that facilitates the entry of protective masks to our lands," noting that his country needs 40 million masks per week.

The minister indicated that France produces eight million muzzle weekly, indicating that the stockpile will not suffice.

For his part, the Prime Minister stressed that "there is another way to deal with the large volume of demand, which is trying to manufacture new products, through the use of the richness of French companies and their innovation in the fabrics and paper in order to manufacture new masks that suit specific uses."
