Haute-Corse, placed by Météo-France on orange alert for snow and ice until 6 p.m. this Thursday, experienced power cuts, affecting 2,300 homes at the peak, but which were all repaired in the afternoon, according to EDF Corse.

"Snowfall or ice in significant proportions" were expected on the north of the Isle of Beauty where the flakes fell "since Wednesday and from 300-500 meters above sea level Thursday", writes Météo-France.

"The temperatures are generally negative above 500-600 meters, which causes freezing and potentially icy roads from mid altitude," warns the organization, announcing "difficult" traffic conditions. The full day was expected 7 to 15 cm of snow between 500 and 800 meters above sea level and 15 to 30 cm above 800 meters.
