Domestic cases of infection with this virus are few. In Hong Kong, the authorities recorded two cases in recent weeks involving two dogs, “they were diagnosed with Covid 19 during a testing campaign that covered 17 dogs and eight cats living with people carrying the virus.

In Belgium, researchers at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Liège revealed this "proven" infection of Lehr, according to what the health authorities said during their daily health conference.

"This is an isolated case that may be recorded after close contact between the animal and the affected person," said doctor Emmanuel André, a spokesman for the authorities, on the pandemic.

The doctor stressed that the virus is transmitted from human to animal "but there is no reason to think that animals can be carriers of infection in our society," to meet this with scientific analyzes conducted throughout the world on this issue.

The Belgian Federal Agency for Food Chain said in a statement that "the dogs in Hong Kong did not show any symptoms" while the cat in Belgium "suffered from breathing difficulties."
