" Prison has been a before and an after in my life because, for H or for B, it is what has touched me and that's where I realized everything." The life of which Maka speaks (1986) is set in the Polígono Norte del Almanjáyar , one of the most humble neighborhoods in Granada . There, he remembers about his adolescence, they alternated parties and brawls while they struggled to get ahead.

"You saw all those movies, Torete , El heifer ... also your friends, and you wanted to be the same", he says, "you want it not, you are redirecting yourself to the bad without knowing it , because you are not conscious until you wake up in a shack with five years sentence. "

The robbery of a game room took Francisco Javier Rodríguez Morales , his real name, to prison. But the lack of freedom made him change his way of seeing things. In prison, he trained, read books and began to take seriously the music he had sucked since he was a child thanks to his grandfather, singer, and his mother.

"When I go out I don't know how to do anything. I said, or I sing, or I starve. But what do I do? Do I steal again? Do I put on a marijuana interior? No. I wanted to shoot for something good and music has made me useful, it has been my rescue, "he explains.

Since then, Maka has released six albums and has already advanced some songs from the last one. By name Blessings he assures that it is a more intimate work in which he does not look for big numbers, but to give something different. "Nowadays, people want to stick with a theme that they do in half an hour . Mine is more thoughtful, more relaxed." He has also started a tour in 2020 in which for the first time he is accompanied by a band on stage.

"Many flamingos ask me for advice"

Although getting here, he says, has cost him his. "Starting from scratch is difficult, but I started from minus five. Who is going to bet on one who has just been released from prison , from Almanjáyar? No one. Not even my family," he says, "I told my family they made me some speakers are missing and as if they hear rain ".

In PNA, the first job he published after leaving prison, he opted for hip hop. Later, he would go on to merge flamenco with reggeatón, trap or rap, a style with which he continues today and in which he has managed to make a name for himself. " Many flamingos come to us and they even ask me for advice . You want me not to, people who have followed me since I was a child tell me that, they fill me up."

Despite everything, Maka confesses that she does not have a great ambition. " At 33 years old, I often feel old . And I have felt old at twenty-one, because it has been a life suffered," he says. "When you go through so much hardship, with any little thing you are happy. I often don't get used to being this good. And that's why I take advantage of the moment, I enjoy what I can and whatever God wants. It's like you've already passed yourself the expert game . " So much so that his only plan, he says, is not to die and go out on the bike a bit. "I like a very simple, family life. That's what I want, I don't think about anything else."
