Reusable cloth mask The government releases a video on how to wash March 20 10:00
As masks continue to be scarce due to the spread of the new coronavirus, the government has decided to distribute cloth masks that can be washed and used repeatedly to nursing homes and other facilities. We released a video introducing how to wash the mask.
The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry recommend that a cloth mask made of gauze or the like be washed once a day in order to use it repeatedly.
In the video published on YouTube on the video site, we recommend that you soak the mask in water containing clothing detergent for 10 minutes, and then do a light push instead of a paddy wash to avoid damaging the fibers.
If dirt is a concern, soak the mask in water containing chlorine-based bleach, rinse with water and dry in the shade without using a dryer.
However, the government says that the performance of the mask may deteriorate each time it is washed, and the government wants to replace it appropriately depending on the degree of damage.
The government will purchase 21.5 million cloth masks at once and distribute them one by one from this month to the beginning of next month so that one person can go to nursing homes and daycare centers nationwide.
On the other hand, in the disposable type, the government expects that cloth masks will be used effectively because demand will greatly exceed supply and manufacturers will continue to run out of stock for a while as manufacturers start to increase production significantly .
