70 years ago, on March 19, 1950, the national artist of Russia Nadezhda Babkina was born in the family of the hereditary Volga Cossack. She sang and participated in amateur performances since childhood. She graduated from the Gnesins Institute and the Higher Theater Courses at GITIS, in her student years organized the ensemble "Russian Song", and later created the theater of the same name. The work of Babkina was marked by important state awards - among them the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, III degree, Friendship and Honor. The artist takes an active part in public life: she is a member of the United Russia party and the Presidential Council for Cossacks, and in 2014 - 2019 she was a deputy of the Moscow City Duma.
