The Syrian community in Italy announced the death of the Syrian doctor, Abd al-Sattar Ayroud, 80, after he was infected with the Corona virus in Italy, where he lives.

In a statement issued by the community, the Syrian doctor Ibn Aleppo said that the death occurred as a result of the transmission of the Corona virus infection from one of his patients.

Raneem Ayroud, the niece of the late brother, said on Facebook that her uncle, Dr. Abdel Sattar Ayroud, passed away after he was infected with the Corona virus, which he was infected with from a patient in Italy where he studied medicine and worked there for more than 50 years.


“Yassin Al-Yafi”, a member of the Yemeni community in “Italy,” said that “Ayroud” who continued to practice medicine in “Italy” even after he reached the age of retirement and reached the age of eighty, he received a call from one of his patients and he went to him in the hospital where it became clear that the patient Infected with "Corona" virus.

Al-Yafie added that the infection was transmitted to Aeroud from the infected patient. The doctor’s infection greatly affected his respiratory system and he was unable to bear the severity of the disease, as he died in the Italian city of Piacenza.

The pages of the Arab community, in Italy, stated on social media, that "the late doctor is the third Arab victim of the virus, after the death of Egyptian and Tunisian citizens."
