Where can we find this document?

This document, "attesting to the reason for the trip", is now available on the website of the Ministry of the Interior. After downloading it, you can print it, if you can, or copy it on paper. After entering their contact details (surname, first name, address and date of birth), you must check the reason for their trip.

When should we have this certificate with us?

From this Tuesday, 12 noon, all French people who move, even pedestrians, must have this document with them. The certificate is valid for one day, for only one type of trip. In other words, it will be necessary to redo a certificate every day, but also for each type of trip (shopping, doctor, jogging etc.). Note that professional cards (doctors, nurses, journalists) serve as a certificate.

What trips are allowed?

Only five types of travel are now authorized: travel between home and the workplace, only when it is essential and telework is impossible, shopping and shopping for health reasons. The French can also travel to help vulnerable people or babysit. Finally, those related to individual physical activity and the needs of pets are tolerated.

What is the risk if we do not present a certificate?

For French citizens who circulate without a certificate or without valid reason, they risk a fine of up to 135 euros. It is currently 38 euros. Monday evening, Christophe Castaner, the Minister of the Interior, announced that 100,000 police and gendarmes would be deployed to ensure compliance with traffic restrictions.
