Two new nurses and other nurses confirmed infection in Chiba Prefecture

It was newly confirmed that two men and women living in Chiba Prefecture were infected with the new coronavirus. Of these, women are working at nursery schools in Ichikawa city, and nursery schools are considering closing from the 13th.

According to Chiba Prefecture, the newly confirmed infections were women in childcare workers in their 50s living in Ichikawa City and men in office workers in their 60s living in Matsudo City.

Of these, a woman had a headache and fever on the 1st of this month, and after visiting a medical institution several times, she performed a virus test on the 10th. As a result, a new coronavirus infection was confirmed on the 11th. Currently she is hospitalized for pneumonia, cough and runny nose.

The woman was working at a nursery school in Ichikawa City, and was taking work off and recuperating after her onset.

None of the nursery school children and staff have symptoms, but according to Ichikawa City, nursery schools are considering closing from the 13th and will disinfect facilities.

On the other hand, a man became feverish while working at a workplace in Ichikawa City on April 4, and was transported to a medical institution.

He returned home that day, and then took a break from work. He went to the same medical facility on the 10th and performed a test, and found that the infection was confirmed on the 11th. The man has been diagnosed with pneumonia and will be hospitalized in the future.

Chiba Prefecture is examining the route of transmission, as it has not been confirmed that both people have been linked to sports clubs and nursing homes in Ichikawa City, where multiple infected people are present.

There are now 27 infected people in Chiba, of which 12 live in Ichikawa and 6 live in Matsudo.
