The Tourmalet ski area in the Hautes-Pyrénées. - A. Gelebart / 20 Minutes

Schoolchildren in zone A, the last to return to school, end their holidays this Sunday. Some have been able to ski in extremis in Pyrenean resorts which have known for many a season more black (or rather earthy brown) than white. Closed since February 4 due to lack of snow, Le Mourtis, in Haute-Garonne, for example reopened this weekend, with three runs available on 19, and three lifts in ten between 1,350 and 1,860 m above sea level.

Last week's "white gold" falls (finally) enabled certain areas to offer something other than four-season activities, as was the case throughout the winter holidays.

A return to temporary calm in #SouthWest this morning with clear skies over # Béarn and a few benches of #brume, far from the stormy atmosphere of the past week!
The # Pyrenees are loaded with # snow, cutting there too with the rest of "winter.

In Ariège, Guzet (1,100-2,200 meters) also partially opened. A little further west, Hautacam (1500-1800 meters) simply celebrated its first opening of winter!

Stations still closed

This shy improvement will not save a very complicated season. Certain other stations, especially at medium altitude, remain closed, in particular to the east of the chain, such as Puyvalador (Pyrénées-Orientales), Camurac (Aude) or Mijanès (Ariège).
