Saudi Arabia has reopened the gates of the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, after closing them to sterilize them, as a preventive health measure, against the emerging Corona virus, official state news TV reported Friday morning.

The channel noted that the two holy mosques were temporarily closed after Thursday evening dinner, in order to prevent them from being sterilized in order to ensure the cleanliness of the two holy mosques. The Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques decided to close the Kaaba courtyard and endeavor in the Great Mosque of Mecca, in addition to the bars of Zamzam, and to prevent bedding and retreating in conjunction with the suspension of Umrah, and decided to close the old mosque in the Prophet's Mosque, including the honorable kindergarten and the Baqi cemetery.
