Only two Spanish destinations have been among the best in the world to travel this year according to the Tripadvisor portal through its Travelers' Choice 2020 awards , which it presents each year. Which? Fuerteventura and Cala d'Or, in Mallorca. Of course, each one belongs to a different ranking, since for the first time the awards of the world's largest digital travel platform include two categories: fashion and emerging destinations.
The former recognize travelers' favorite places by experiencing the greatest increases in positive opinions during the past year. For their part, emerging destinations are those that will be fashionable in the future, based on the growing interest of portal users by saving them between "Your Trips", an indicator of the coming trends.
In the first case, the Canary Island of Fuerteventura is ranked 16th in the Top 20, being Cochin , the interesting city of the Indian state of Kerala, the first in the list. In her Tripadvisor recommends to take walks at sunset, to taste fresh fish from the beach vendors and sign up for a boat tour through the so-called backwaters , or calm water backwaters.
Cochin and Kaliningrad, the favorite places
After Cochin, come Luzon , in the Philippines, Porto (Portugal), Porto Seguro and Gramado (Brazil), the Indonesian island of Lombok, Da Nang, in Vietnam, Zakynthos, in the Greek Ionian Islands, Tel Aviv (Israel) and Krakow ( Poland). This would be the Top 10 of fashion destinations. Fuerteventura, of course, does not appear until number 16.
As for the emerging destinations for 2020, the portal first highlights the Russian city of Kaliningrad , washed by the waters of the Baltic Sea. In that section, the idyllic Cala d'Or , in Mallorca, is ranked 18. Tripadvisor recommends it for "its calm waters, its sandy bays and its family atmosphere." The second place among the preferred pop-ups of web users is Sarandë, in Albania.
The complete Top 10 list would be integrated by the following destinations: Beirut (Lebanon), Luxor (Egypt), Naoussa (Greece), the island of Rügen , in the German state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Phu Quoc (Vietnam), Monopoli ( Italy), La Paz (Mexico) and Curaçao (Brazil).

The choice of the winners of the fashionable and emerging destinations are based on the opinions and growing interest of Tripadvisor travelers and therefore are a fantastic source of inspiration to discover new places, "says Blanca Zayas, responsible for Communication in Spain.
