On December 31, 2019, the 1st report of coronavirus cases was reported to WHO in central China. Despite the preventive measures taken, and in particular the containment of suspected cases, the number of countries affected by the epidemic is only increasing. WHO is particularly concerned about the sudden increase in new cases in Italy, South Korea and Iran. Italy is the first European country to have set up a health cordon around ten cities. South Korea has the highest number of infections, while Iran reports the highest number of deaths outside of China. In total, more than thirty countries are now affected by the epidemic of viral pneumonia. It is in this context that the WHO evokes a risk of pandemic.
