A tree fallen in the Crous de Tarbes, during the passage of the storm Myriam, Tuesday. - Agnès Viel / Météo Pyrénées

The Hautes-Pyrénées prefecture published this Tuesday at the end of the afternoon a first assessment of the passage of storm Myriam, the second in two days after Karine on Monday. The department was then always placed by Météo-France in orange alert strong wind, like the Landes, the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, the Gers, the Haute-Garonne and the Ariège.

At 4:45 p.m., 10,000 homes in the Upper Pyrenees were without electricity in around thirty municipalities. In addition, many trees have fallen, especially on highways. Staff of the departmental council were busy clearing them. The departmental operational center (COD) was triggered by the prefecture, which calls for the greatest caution.
