His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, opened yesterday evening at the Culture Palace, the activities of the 30 th session of Sharjah Theatrical Days, organized by the Department of Culture.

His Highness, Ruler of Sharjah, honored the Sharjah Prize for Arab Theatrical Creativity in its session (14), by: Salih Zaal and Saud Al Darmaki. The award was received on behalf of Saud, his son Maan, and the Emirati artist Sultan Al Niyadi was crowned with the award of the local honorable character, and he received on his behalf the artist Yasser Al Niyadi In appreciation of their long artistic career and their role in developing and upgrading the theater.

His Highness also honored the theatrical work, which won the Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi Award for Best Arab Theatrical Work, which is organized by the Arab Theater Authority, which is "GBS" for the Algerian National Theater Company.

His Highness and the audience watched a short film, highlighting the most prominent stations of the artistic march of the dignitaries.

The current session is witnessing 13 works, namely: “Subh and Masa” play, written and directed by Hafiz Aman by the Dubai National Theater Company, and “Things that are not suitable for human consumption”, written by Ali Jamal and directed by Hassan Rajab, by the Modern Theater Company in Sharjah, and the play “Where is my mind, my heart?” Written by Othman Al-Shatti and directed by Ahmed Al-Ansari for the Kalba Association for Theater Company, and the play “Ranger of Light” written by Abdullah Saleh and directed by Ali Jamal for the Dubai National Theater Company, and the play “Touching Painful” written by Hamid Fares and directed by Mubarak Khamis for the Ras Al Khaimah National Theater and play “Night of the Spider’s Killing” Written by Ismail Abdullah and directed by Ilham Muhammad, for the Khorfakkan Theater Theater Group, and the play “Mercy” written by Abdel Amir Shamkhi and directed by Obaid Al-Harsh for the Fujairah Theater Ensemble. Dibba Al-Hisn Theater, Masr Yeh «symphony of life and death» written by Ismail Abdullah and directed by Mohammad Al Ameri Band Sharjah National Theater, and the play «Ja.ba.as» written and directed by Mohamed Cherchell band Algerian National Theater.

The Sharjah Days Theater Shows program includes two works from the eighth session of the Kalba Festival for Short Plays: “Lear, the King of Sculptors”, by Hassan Youssef and directed by Saeed Al-Harsh, and “The Tragedy of the Pilgrims”, written and directed by Rami Majdi.

The opening of the theatrical days of Sharjah was attended by: Sheikh Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Office of His Highness the Ruler, Sheikh Faisal bin Saud Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah International Airport Authority, President of the Amiri Diwan Rashid Ahmed bin Sheikh, Commander in Chief of Sharjah Police Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, and Head of the Department Culture Abdullah Muhammad Al Owais, Chairman of the Commercial and Tourism Development Authority Khaled Jassem Al Midfa, Head of the Protocol and Hospitality Department Mohammed Obaid Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Work Standards Development Authority Salem Youssef Al Qasir, a number of officials in local departments and institutions, and the director of the theater department of the Culture Department Ahmed Burhama, Kawkab Artists and stars of the theater.

Early junction

Sharjah Theatrical Days in its 30th session, which will continue until the sixth of March this year, will host a new session from the first Arab Theater Forum, which is organized annually and celebrates the distinguished students of theater institutes and colleges in the Arab world, through a series of training workshops, lectures and cultural meetings.

Al-Multaqa program is organizing a workshop on the concept of new theatrical writing supervised by Moroccan writer Essam Al-Yousifi, and a lecture on the evolution of the acting movement in the Emirates supervised by Ibrahim Salem, and the Iraqi artist Jabbar Al-Judi tells about his career with the theater for the participating students.

13 students from Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Lebanon, Kuwait, Jordan, Sudan, Syria and Algeria will participate in the forum.

The opening ceremony of Sharjah Theatrical Days included the 30 members of the jury of the 30th session, namely: Walid Al Zaabi (Emirates), Mohammed Al-Damour (Jordan), Zahira bin Ammar (Tunisia), Amin Al-Nassour (Morocco), and Jabbar Al-Judi (Iraq).
