Routine treatment alone is not enough! These white angels will also "talk" ...

"At that time, we came to Wuhan with the idea of 'coming, we might not be able to go back'."

After 28 days of hard work, the first batch of Fujian medical aid teams in Fujian admitted 195 patients with new-type coronavirus infection, and 133 were cured and discharged. There were no deaths and no medical staff were infected.

"This is the luck of our Fujian team, and it is not surprising that Chinese medical care has this level." On the 28th, Wu Wenwei, the first group of doctors of the medical team in Fujian and the vice chief physician of the Department of Critical Care Medicine, Affiliated Union Hospital of Fujian Medical University, accepted an exclusive interview with a reporter from China News Agency to talk about his experience in Wuhan.

Here is his dictation.

Fireworks in the ICU

We are the first batch of 135 aid team members in Fujian, all of whom are backbones of respiratory medicine and intensive care departments of various hospitals in Fujian. They were invited on the third day of the new year.

Medical staff of the Fujian Aidu Medical Team arrived at Wuhan Central Hospital. For map

On January 27, we flew from Fuzhou to Wuhan. On February 2, we transferred from Wuhan Central Hospital Houhu Hospital to Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital and took over two critically ill areas.

Dr. Liu Huiheng of Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Xiamen University returned from Linxia Prefecture, Gansu Province in August 2019. In this operation, she did not tell her family, "I'm afraid they are worried, but just hug her daughter before leaving." Photo courtesy

Some of us at the time came to Wuhan with the idea of "coming, and maybe not going back." I have been to the Wenchuan earthquake relief, I also thought about it this way. If I do n’t go back, I ca n’t go back. In this case, if you do n’t come out to study medicine, why should you study medicine?

New Coronary Pneumonia currently has no specific medicine. Our routine movements are in accordance with the rescue guidelines issued by the National Health and Medical Commission, but we also applied some features of Fujian-"Therapy" to stimulate patients' desire to survive.

When we first entered the ward, the atmosphere was very depressing. Everyone and every family was affected by this sudden epidemic, especially those in Wuhan who are in the center of the vortex. If they say a few words, they can feel their confusion, fear and anxiety.

In fact, many patients are very critical. Fortunately, they have survived. We relied on the word therapy to open their hearts.

There was a female patient almost 60 years old, and routine treatment had little effect on her.

I asked her, "Can your family be assured without medicine?"

she cried.

My wife has just died of a new crown. Daughter in her 30s is mentally retarded and lives alone at home and isolated.

"What about my daughter?" She said with tears, and she's been through life, and she can't get through this.

Although wearing two layers of masks and speaking very quietly, the medical staff of the Fujian Aidian E Medical Team relied on "therapy" to open the patient's heart. Photo courtesy

Another old lady in her 90s was too breathless to take another step, and had many basic diseases. She did not cooperate with the treatment. The oxygen mask was dropped as soon as it was put on, and the infusion needle was stuck. Unplug it immediately.

It is no wonder that the old sisters who played Mahjong with her usually left two during that time, and her mood was also greatly affected.

What really broke the ice was that we did everything we could to call their communities and family members and solve their heart problems. The daughter of the mentally handicapped, a community worker and a volunteer who were separated from home, delivered food every day. The old lady was relieved. For the ninety-year-old lady, we contacted her grandson who was far away in the United States. One day, they asked them to make an overseas video call, and she "obediently" injected and took medicine.

We were all dumb. When wearing two layers of protective masks and masks, the voice is too low, so you have to shout loudly. In particular, four elderly gentlemen who were nearly 90 years old were transferred from Wuhan Welfare Institute. They were deaf and hard. "Talk therapy" needed to turn up the volume.

This is a meticulous process bit by bit. Although it is an intensive care unit, our relationship is harmonious and enthusiastic.

Creative young people have turned our "big white clothes" into "mobile menus", "single declarations" and "daily expressions". These human touches and fireworks on the earth make the patients amused every day.

On February 18th, at the Hanyang Guobo Fangfang Hospital in Wuhan, Cai Feili, the head nurse of the National Emergency Medical Rescue Team of Fujian Provincial Hospital, wrote "I want to eat litchi meat" on the protective suit. Photo courtesy

Lin Jing of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine drew Fujian snacks on the protective clothing of each colleague. The practice of the pot, the classic combination of line batter, and the deliciousness of lychee meat made the "big white" move menu . Photo by Lin Qian

Two days before we changed jobs, many people were discharged from hospital, and many of us also learned Baduanjin following us.

There was only one person with pneumonia, but we were not willing to transfer him to hospital. He was a comatose patient with a traumatic brain injury and a new crown. It was particularly difficult. He couldn't eat, relying on feeding, inserted a nutrition tube, and diarrhea. He couldn't sputum, and he needed to pat his back and suck his sputum every few hours.

Family members cannot enter the ward and the nursing workload is very heavy, but my colleagues do it very carefully. We brought in protein powder, prepared rice soup, and fed spoonful. The coma patient finally got pneumonia, and the person became fat. So far, no bedsores have appeared.

Four mine tents and cameras

The slogan of our Fujian team is sixteen words: "Scientific protection, scientific treatment, completion of tasks, safe return". At this stage, we have achieved 0 cases of medical infection, which means that scientific protection can return safely, and it also means that there are preventable and controllable samples that can be followed.

This is first of all thanks to our beautiful control of virus infection. There are five hospital experts in our team. They can eliminate all possible infection risks and can be called "deminers".

Five hospital experts from Fujian took a group photo in front of Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital office building. Photo courtesy

Lin Xuan, an expert at Fujian Provincial Hospital, is a female general who impressed me. As soon as she arrived in Wuhan and settled in the hotel, she directed the construction of four tents as a buffer zone, and asked everyone to change out of the service here. Later, when the leaders of Hubei Province came to investigate, they accepted this sense control method and asked the local district governments to learn the method of Fujian team.

How come back to the hotel after taking off the jacket and pants? The hotel provides bathrobes and bath towels, so every day we bald big-han Han Qiu Qiu, snow-white bath towels rushed into the lobby and became a scene, although indecent but very natural.

For the convenience of work, Wu Wenwei (second from the left) and his comrades shaved their heads. They laughed and called themselves "eighteen Lohan". Photo courtesy

On the night of the cliff-like cooling in Wuhan, the wind and rain were a storm, all four tents were overturned, and our jackets and shoes were all wet. Fortunately, a batch of warm supplies was delivered to Fujian. Although the hotel has only one manager, two front desks, and two security guards, they still help us wash and dry our clothes. The next day, we put on drying And the down jacket also has a down coat.

Hospital experts asked us to avoid taking elevators, take the stairs to the ward, and asked not to eat at the hospital. Even if we were too hungry, we had to go back to the hotel to eat. In order to ensure that medical personnel are not infected when they take off their protective clothing, the hospital experts must be present. Even if they are not in the office, they often “monitor” together through the camera to remind each other of the standard process.

At the time, Wuhan could n’t buy a camera. Lin Xuan asked her family to disassemble the camera in Fuzhou ’s home and sent it. Whether in Wuhan Central Hospital Houhu or Jinyintan, she was always the first to enter the “red zone” (polluted zone) .

These virus control instructions are very detailed and do protect us. This kind of harshness sometimes forced some inventions and inventions. For example, if the ward is a polluted area, it can't get in. What should I do if the shift is in disorder? The nurses cut cardboard into card slots to make 60-box classification pill boxes. All patients' medications were classified into one class at a time, clearly and clearly.

When we changed jobs on the 25th, many medical staff were reluctant to leave, and petitioned one after another. "We are already very familiar with the process and work. We stay to reduce the chance of infection for new colleagues."

"Sick" Wuhan is getting better

I studied at Wuhan University for five years, and Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Although the alma mater was very shabby, the students were extremely hard-working and had deep feelings for Wuhan.

This time the epidemic in Wuhan has also worried us, but the courage shown by all medical staff has kept us confident in defeating the epidemic.

Some medical staff in Jinyintan Hospital were hospitalized with infection, but Dean Zhang Dingyu was very optimistic and never gave up. When we first arrived, there was still a shortage of supplies. He said that we were helping each other, and we were evenly given a lot.

Wuhan's bus system was shut down. Someone gave me a calling account for Didi Express. Even if Didi's page shows no orders, these accounts can still be called, and they can ride for free.

Sometimes the car is not good, and sometimes it takes more than ten minutes to take the order, but it finally solves the problem of returning to the hotel at night. The reply message from the platform is especially kind and heart-warming, and will say nothing: "Thank you". I think both the driver and the platform know that during this time, it is our medical staff who travel to and from the hotel and the hospital.

Once, a local guy in my twenties picked me up. He said that he was an express train volunteer who joined after the city was closed, and he ran for more than a month wearing a thin isolation suit.

He was very talkative and optimistic. He had visited many medical staff and was very clear about the infectious power of the new crown virus, but he said he was not afraid. When he was about to get out of the car, he even wanted to come first to help me open the door. Of course, I was faster than him, and then he stood there and gave me a bow.

I told the players that we may not be able to afford this thanks. All frontline personnel, the hotel managers, drivers, community workers, and journalists around us, all contributed to this epidemic. We are just one of them.

Wang Lin, a doctor at Fujian Provincial Hospital, brought daffodils, a specialty of Zhangzhou, Fujian, to Wuhan. "After the daffodil blooms, it is time for the cherry blossoms to bloom." Many netizens "waited for flowers" with her on Weibo. Photo courtesy

Today, Wuhan is improving. More and more people were cured and discharged. When changing posts, more than a dozen or twenty beds were vacated. However, we are still ready to enter the battle.

After the medical staff enters the incident and no longer fears the disease, they often enter a state of ecstasy. Looking forward to the end of this war epidemic, my colleagues will be able to return to their hometowns safely.
