On February 28 local time, giant water lilies on the outskirts of Asuncion, Paraguay's capital, surfaced. This plant reappeared in the shallow waters of the Sarado River after the summer rainy season. In Guarani, it is called "Yacare Yrupe" which means "house of a crocodile" because it can exceed 1.5 meters in diameter.
