After the announcement Friday morning of a first confirmed case of coronavirus in the Pays-de-la-Loire region (a female doctor from Oise but hospitalized in Nantes after a stay in La Baule), three additional cases were announced this Friday evening by the regional health agency (ARS) of Pays-de-la-Loire. These three patients were treated and hospitalized at the Angers University Hospital.

She is a 58 year old woman from the Mayenne department, her 25 year old daughter and her 25 year old son-in-law living in Maine-et-Loire.

Contact with a patient in Brittany

These people were followed up by the health authorities because they were identified as "contact cases" of a patient hospitalized in Brittany. The tests revealed that they were positive for covid-19. Their state of health is considered "reassuring".

"Following this confirmation, the ARS Pays de la Loire and Public Health France (SPF) have undertaken to establish the list of people with whom these patients have been in close contact in recent days in order to take all possible measures to contain possible transmissions of the virus. "

Measures to prevent the spread

The ARS recalls that regular hand washing is the "most important gesture" to fight against the spread of viruses. Wearing a mask is only recommended for sick people. Gloves are unnecessary. Pupils and students who have recently stayed in a risk zone are asked not to attend class.
