His stories adapted on the big screen

For several years he led a double career as a playwright and a teacher, his father's profession. But following the success of the adaptation of his play Topaze , Marcel Pagnol decides to devote himself solely to writing and creates his own production company. His greatest successes will be adapted on the big screen.

Elected to the French Academy in 1946, he died in Paris in 1974, at the age of 79. "With his evocative and realistic style, Pagnol painted a sincere and comic portrait of daily French life, thereby influencing generations of filmmakers," said Google.
