Wang Weisheng responded that, in addition to very few people holding unhealthy dietary concepts and making huge profits from illegal hunting operations, the serious lack of grassroots protection and law enforcement forces also weakened the protection of wildlife.

The law enforcement forces at the grassroots level are seriously inadequate. Many guards in nature reserves have per capita guarding areas of tens of square kilometers. The monitoring and supervision of e-commerce platforms have been increased, and special monitoring has been strengthened for advertisements involving wildlife trading. The local market supervision departments have also taken many measures in accordance with the requirements of the General Administration. For example, some have implemented "on-site duty" in farmers' markets and large and medium-sized supermarkets, and some have issued guidance manuals or work guidelines for wildlife market supervision.
