Request for temporary closure of elementary and junior high schools for one week Hokkaido Corridor Coronavirus February 26 17:42

In response to the spread of the new coronavirus to schools, the Hokkaido Board of Education has requested municipal boards of education and other schools to temporarily close all elementary and junior high schools in Hokkaido for a week starting on the 27th.

In Hokkaido, the spread of the new coronavirus is spreading to schools, such as children, teachers, and catering staff.

Under these circumstances, the Hokkaido Board of Education held a meeting held at 3:00 pm on March 26 to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection by a total of 1600 public and private elementary and junior high schools and special needs schools in Hokkaido. He reported that he had issued a notice requesting the municipal board of education and private schools to temporarily close schools for one week starting on the 27th.

The decision of whether or not to actually leave school will be made by the Board of Education of each municipality or private school.

High schools, on the other hand, do not require school closures because elementary and junior high schools can take precautionary measures.

We also requested that the entrance examination of the prefectural high school on April 4 be conducted as scheduled, and we also requested that third-year junior high school students who are preparing to take the examination take measures such as supplementary training.

Governor Suzuki of Hokkaido had requested the Road Education Committee to consider a one-week school break to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus and reduce anxiety.
