"Pékin Express" returns to M6 on Tuesday evening for the fifteen years of the show. With animation, cult journalist Stéphane Rotenberg. While the cult program of M6 Beijing Express returns Tuesday evening for the fifteen years of the program, Stéphane Rotenberg was invited, Tuesday, in L'Équipée sauvage, on Europe 1. The flagship host of Top Chef but also of Beijing Express explained that he never felt completely calm about the renewal of his animator contract.

It was however a reassured Stéphane Rotenberg who answered Matthieu Noël's questions on Tuesday. "I had an appointment last week to ask me to stay for a long time," he says. "I was asked if I wanted to stay. When the lunch with the big boss (from M6) was organized, I suspected that good news was coming."

Victim of "a kind of fatalism"

In 2018, he had nevertheless explained to Pure Media that he still felt the fear of not being renewed, despite his long career at M6. If he claims to have "nevertheless noted the big audience successes of these last months", he says he is less a victim of stress than a "kind of fatalism".

Where does such concern come from? According to him, she draws her roots from her past as a freelance journalist, a status that prevents journalists from earning a stable income. Now, it is mainly the fear of being replaced that worries him. "It's been a long time since I've been riding my bump. It's very hard to hold 20 or 25 years in this profession. It's very rare," he said.
