According to the Ceni's provisional results, Faure Gnassingbé was re-elected in the first round for a fourth term. By collecting 72.36% of the votes, the outgoing president obtained 14 points more than 5 years ago. A result disputed by Agbéyomé Kodjo. The opponent, who came in 2nd with 18% of the vote, denounces ballot box stuffing and claims to have won the ballot. Are we headed for a political crisis?
