This week in Venice, it was planned to start filming the film "Mission: Impossible 7" with Tom Cruise in the title role. However, due to an outbreak of coronavirus in Italy, Paramount decided to play it safe and postpone filming, according to Deadline.

The judge has already issued an official statement explaining the reasons for the need for such measures.

“Due to concerns about the safety and health of actors and the film crew, as well as in connection with the decision of local authorities (Venice. - RT ) to cancel public events in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, we are changing the filming schedule, which involves three weeks of filming in Venice, which were supposed to be the first stage of large-scale production of the film “Mission: Impossible 7”, the company said.

Thus, a window was formed in the shooting schedule. At the same time, Paramount emphasized that they care about their employees and expressed their willingness to help the Italian authorities.

“During this period, taking into account the concerns of the film crew, we allow all its members to return home until the shooting begins. We will continue to monitor the situation, as well as cooperate with representatives of authorities and medical institutions as it develops, ”the statement said.

Some foreign publications reported that Tom Cruise, who arrived in Italy after canceling the filming, was locked in a hotel room, however, according to Deadline, the actor had not yet entered the country.

Precautions in the context of the spread of coronavirus take and Russian artists. So, pianist Denis Matsuev decided to postpone the concerts planned for February in Rome and Bologna.

“I want to emphasize once again that we (concerts. - RT ) do not cancel them, but transfer them. I will inform you of the date separately. I wish all sick people a speedy recovery, healthy ones - not to get sick, scientists - as soon as possible to come up with a medicine. Listen to classical music as the most effective means of increasing immunity and mood! ” - the pianist wrote on his Facebook page.

Neighboring countries - including Slovenia, Serbia and Croatia - carefully monitor arrivals from Lombardy and Veneto, where the largest number of cases are currently observed. Austria had previously blocked railway links with Italy, but later train traffic was restored. In addition, entry for Italian citizens restricted Israel.

In the north of the country where Milan and Venice are located, quarantine was introduced from February 23 to March 1. This measure includes restricting transportation and canceling school activities. In Lombardy, temple services were also suspended.

The famous Venetian carnival, which opened on February 8 this year, ended ahead of schedule - its last days fell on the quarantine period. At the same time that the quarantine began for tourists, the Basilica of San Marco was closed (however, praying is still allowed).

During the quarantine period, Milan Fashion Week also fell. Giorgio Armani decided to hold the show in a closed format so that guests do not have to visit crowded places. Instead, a live broadcast was organized on the brand’s official website.

From Sunday, February 24th, the opera house La Scala canceled all performances. The opening date of the site has not yet been announced. The city also has a closed cathedral and one of the largest galleries - Brera.

It has already been stated that the traditional action “Free Museum on Sundays” will not take place on March 1, as part of which state cultural institutions can be visited freely on the first Sundays of the month.

Quarantine events affected the distribution of films: almost half of the country's sites are currently closed. The prime minister’s schedule has also changed - five films, including both Italian and foreign films, will not be shown in the coming weeks.

Earlier, similar measures were introduced in China. There, they revised the schedule of the main February releases, including Jojo's Rabbit, Little Women, The Amazing Journey of Dr. Doolittle, 1917, Hellboy, and Sonic to the Cinema. At the same time, the premieres of the films pretending to be Oscars were specially scheduled for dates close to the ceremony - success at the Academy, as past practice shows, significantly fuels the interest of the Chinese audience in new products.
