Recently, the Forest Public Security Bureau of Mojiang County, Pu'er City, Yunnan Province rescued a macaque, a national second-level protected animal. It is understood that the macaque was arrested for eating food grown by villagers down the mountain and illegally domesticated for 8 years.

Because the macaque monkey has been domesticated for a long time, it has lost its independent survival ability in the wild and does not have the conditions for being released into the wild. Forest police are preparing to hand it over to a local wildlife rescue agency for assistance.

Due to the suspected illegal hunting of precious and endangered wild animals, the villager Duan Mou has been taken by the forest public security organ to obtain criminal compulsory measures pending bail.

At the same time, the forest police reminded that if certain losses were caused by wild animal accidents, relevant evidence could be collected in a timely manner and reported to the local wildlife authority for compensation matters.
