Nagoya Expressway announced that a man in Nagoya City who was found to be infected with the new coronavirus was a clerk of a company that operates a tollgate.

The clerk is not in contact with the highway users, but as a result of having the staff who seemed to be in heavy contact on standby at home, there was a shortage of staff and some toll booths were closed from the 22nd.

The infection was confirmed by a male clerk in his 60s of a company that operates a tollgate on the Nagoya Expressway.

According to the Nagoya Expressway, men pick up staff at the toll booth, do not contact with users of the expressway, and their condition is stable.

Following confirmation of the infection, the Nagoya Expressway put 52 staff members, including tollgate staff who seemed to be in close contact with men, on standby by the 22nd.

As a result, the toll booth has become scarce, and the five toll booths on the Tokai and Manba lines, including the ETC lane, will be closed from the 22nd, and will be closed from 9:00 am on the 23rd. It means adding one toll booth.

These toll booths are used by an average of about 11,000 vehicles a day, and the closing period is expected to be at least about two weeks until the beginning of next month.

The Nagoya Expressway has been calling since 15th of this month to consult with public health centers if people who are using the general lanes of the Tokai Line and the Manba Line toll booth and have physical problems such as fever.
