Five Auchan stores have just set up second-hand fashion spaces since Monday. It is a partnership with the company Patatam, created in 2013, which offers the sale of second-hand fashion items on its website. These spaces have been set up in stores located in Roncq (North), Melun (Seine-et-Marne), Hirson (Aisne), Marseille and Bordeaux (Gironde), reports LSA this Thursday.

Another example of the appeal of the second-hand market: in 5 hypermarkets Auchan is testing a second-hand clothing resale space in partnership with Patatam. Customers can also return clothes for a voucher

The offer is dedicated to women and children. This is currently a test, which must be conducted for three months. If the adventure is successful, these second-hand fashion spaces could flourish in other supermarkets of the brand.

Prices are fixed

The prices have been set and are the same for all clothing, regardless of brand. T-shirts are available at 3 euros, skirts at 5 euros, pants and sweaters at 8 euros and coats at 15 euros. Everything is managed by Patatam, which also offers a clothing collection service. In exchange, donors will receive a voucher that can be used in the textile department of the brand.

Although it is second hand, Patatam is demanding with its clothes. "Our job is to receive, process and sort the garments we receive " , assures Éric Gagnaire, one of the co-founders of Patatam, and whose words are relayed by LSA . "Three to four people are involved in the selection chain for each item," he adds.
