A new report stated that private chat groups via the "WhatsApp" application expose the users' privacy to danger, as part of a new thunderbolt that struck the privacy of users through the communication sites, as it is possible for the search engine "Google" to reveal any private chat group in the WhatsApp application via search.

In the details, the journalist discovered on the German radio station "Deutsche Welle" Jordan Wildon, that using the feature "Invite to a group via the link" in the application allows the search engine to index it.

This makes it easy to find some private groups only with a simple search via Google, which means that anyone can randomly discover and join chat groups, and after joining, participants and their phone numbers can be seen.

In turn, developer Jin Mansion Wong notes that Google offers about 470,000 search results for URL chat.whatsapp.com that are using invitations to chat groups.

This is not a malfunction in the application, as Google indexes the invitation links to the private WhatsApp group conversations, according to the report of the American media and broadcasting company, Vice (Vice).

WhatsApp commented on the reports that, just like any content that is shared in searchable public channels, links that are publicly posted on the Internet can be found by other application users.

The company added that the links that users want to share privately should only be published with people they know and trust.

It is noteworthy that the application "WhatsApp" is one of the most widespread messaging applications in the world and is used by about 1.5 billion users.
