Friday, February 14, the candidate of the party La République en Marche, Benjamin Griveaux, was forced to withdraw his candidacy for mayor of Paris after the dissemination of videos of a sexual nature on social networks.

These images were made public by the Russian artist Piotr Pavlenski who, indicted in this file, claimed to have "stolen" the video from its recipient: his current partner, Alexandra de Taddeo.

"Since then, French society has wondered about the sometimes destructive role of social networks when they become the site of cyber-harassment and weaken our democratic base", we can read in an editorial published by Cartooning for peace.
