Wearing a unique mask with a motif of a bottle and a motif, four people of Sakeman, who are promoting sake in the United States, visited a long-established sake brewery in Fukui Prefecture and experienced authentic sake brewing.

"Sakeman" is an organization made by the staff of a Japanese sake wholesale sales company in the United States.

Members and others visited a long-established sake brewery in Ono City, Fukui Prefecture on 19th, trying to experience authentic sake brewing, and experienced the brewing work under the guidance of the brewer. Four people put the steamed sake rice in a fermentation tank containing koji and water, and then stir it carefully using a stick.

One of the members, Peter Hotum, said, "The real sake brewing is exciting. Sake has a variety of flavors and feels wider than whiskey and wine."

Takuya Shimomura, representative of Kuramato US, a Japanese sake wholesale company that operates Sakeman, said, "I want to learn and understand sake brewing and convey the best of sake to many Americans."
