`` Cheonlian 2B '', a geostationary marine and environmental satellite developed by domestic technology, was successfully launched today at 7:18 am (18: 7 pm local time) at the Guiana Space Center in French Guiana, South America. That's it.

The Ariane-5 ECA projectile, boasting a 98.6% success rate, was equipped with a marine and environmental observation satellite `` Chilian 2B, '' and went out into space without a noticeable time and error.

Three minutes after launch, the pairing, the cover that protects the satellite, was removed, and about 25 minutes later, it entered the orbit.

The transition trajectory is an elliptical orbit that connects 251 km to the earth and 35,822 km to the distance.

About 31 minutes after the launch, the satellite was detached from the projectile, and about eight minutes later, Yassra, Australia, first contacted the tracking station.

One hour after launch, the satellite unfolds its solar panels toward the sun and settles on its target geostation one month after launch.

Choi Jae-dong, director of the Geostationary Satellite Research Center, Korea Aerospace Research Institute, said, “The first communication is the first gateway to the success of the launch.” I can check it. "

Cheonlian 2B will undergo various tests and provide marine observation data after October, and will send environmental information to the ground from next year.

This satellite will be tasked with observing the ocean and the environment around the Korean Peninsula for the next ten years.
