Little revolution in Miss contests? On Saturday, Germany elected its new Miss Germany (there is also a competing Miss Deutschland), and the lucky winner created the surprise. Why ? Because it is the first time that a mother takes down the crown. Indeed, originally from the city of Kiel and manager of an online fashion store, Leonie von Hase, 35, is also the mother of a 3-year-old boy. She represented the Land of Schleswig-Holstein.

In fact, this 45th Miss Germany election, organized at the Europapark in Rust, was itself a little revolutionary, especially compared to the more "traditional" contests of other countries, of France for example. In search of an "authentic" Miss, the organizers revised the rules: no swimsuit parade, no restriction on celibacy and children, and an age limit pushed back by ten years, until 39 years old. Leonie von Hase was the oldest, her runners both being 22 years old. Next step, she will participate in the election of Miss World (the Miss Europe and Miss Universe contests are for Miss Deutschland).
