The Republic of Ireland must "start preparing a referendum on the unity of the island". These words are those of Ireland's new strong character Mary Lou McDonald, head of Sinn Fein, the party that won the legislative elections on February 8.

The Sinn Fein, already in power in Northern Ireland (in a coalition with the Unionists) has always considered reunification as its reason for being. A perspective favored by Brexit. But there is still a long way to go for the former political arm of the IRA. What will Ireland and Northern Ireland have to do to become one? This is the central question of decryption.
