These are communities that are rarely talked about. These French born to Chinese, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Laotian parents who fled dictatorships or looked for a better future for their children, in discretion ... Today in light of social networks, the second generation claims the word and seeks the dialogue… but also comes up against the wall of prejudice and racism, thanks to an epidemic, like the corona virus, which has seen its flood of suspicions and insults, even in the playgrounds… but also of an indisputable economic success, and one that creates annoyance in other immigrant communities.

Mélanie's parents were born in Laos, and both fled the dictatorship in the 1970s to find refuge in France. Like millions of other "boat people". A story that Mélanie discovered late. Testimony at the microphone of Alice Milot.

Mélanie Hong is the author of a podcast "Melting pot" which gives voice to French people who have a double culture.
