Jan Smit does not live with his wife Liza and their three children for part of his time to recover from his burnout. The singer has, on the advice of his treating team, rented an apartment outside Volendam to be alone.
Smit told earlier through social media that he was mentally and physically unable to do his job for a while. The singer is now busy preparing for the presentation of the Eurovision Song Contest, but he is not performing.
His manager Aloys Buys tells De Telegraaf that the singer has been in a Spanish clinic for five weeks to be treated against burnout under the guidance of Dutch psychotherapists.
To continue the process in the Netherlands, Smit is not only treated in the Netherlands, but it has been decided by him and his environment that it is wise if he now has a place for himself.
"That is arranged with his wife Liza, his family, his treating team and with us. It is often too busy for him at home. With three children, aged twelve, nine and six, it sometimes gets too much for him at home , if they also bring boyfriends and girlfriends from school, and you can't expect from those kids that they always take Daddy, who wants peace, into account. After two minutes, luckily, they forgot again. now, outside of Volendam, where he can go day and night as soon as he needs it.
