The fresco in tribute to Steve Maia Caniço has been degraded in Nantes - J. Urbach / 20 Minutes

It was covered with a thick black substance, presumably tar. In Nantes, the fresco produced in tribute to Steve Maia Caniço, this young man who died on June 21 after a controversial police operation, has been degraded in recent hours. All the characters represented, and Steve the first, have been covered. In the center, a large Celtic cross has been drawn. The words "Justice Milla, Esteban, Marin" were tagged in a corner.

The "hard right" (sic)

Eight days ago, this giant fresco produced a few weeks after the drama had been degraded. Messages such as "A l'eau" or "Glou-Glou", signed "la droite dur" (sic) had been written on the wall, causing many indignant reactions on social networks. The fresco had been repainted.

An online kitty has been launched to restore it again. "I condemn with the greatest firmness this hateful act, with foul smells," reacted the mayor of Nantes, Johanna Rolland.
