The Jordanian Ministry of Agriculture announced the lifting of the state of locust control from medium to maximum, after swarms reached the Saudi Heil area, 500 km from the Saudi-Jordanian border.

The Jordanian Minister of Agriculture, Ibrahim Al-Shehadeh, instructed to lift the special emergency situation for locust control from the Mediterranean to the extreme, based on a continuous and continuous follow-up of more than three months to locust movements that showed the arrival of desert locust swarms in the southern and central northern regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, especially the area Hayel, which is 500 km from the Jordanian-Saudi border.

In a statement carried by Jordanian media reports, the minister indicated that there is a strong follow-up to the movements of desert locust swarms coming to Saudi lands from Yemen.

He confirmed the readiness of all qualified and trained cadres in the Ministry, in addition to the supporting authorities from the armed forces (Royal Air Force), General Security (Royal Badia), customs, and the Aqaba Authority, pointing to activating the work of the central emergency room in the capital and branch in the southern region of Jordan. He noted that there is permanent coordination and communication with locust control centers in neighboring countries.
