The Toulouse prosecutor's office confirmed this Monday evening the opening of a judicial investigation against two police officers suspected of corruption and arrested on Saturday in their service by their colleagues from the IGPN, the police force.

The details of the case were released by La Dépêche du Midi. According to the regional daily, everything would start from a complaint filed last week by the owner of a road transport company. One of his drivers allegedly explained to him that he had given several hundred euros in cash to two police officers who had just taken him for speeding, the transaction having saved him a license suspension.

The two officials were placed in police custody on Saturday evening before being brought to the prosecution on Monday. Dominique Alzéari, the prosecutor of the Republic of Toulouse, indicates that his services required a warrant for the two suspects.
