U.S. government charter aircraft arrives Cruise ship returns to U.S. passengers February 16 23:20

Two charter aircraft to return American passengers of the cruise ship Diamond Princess, confirmed to have been infected with the new coronavirus, arrived at Haneda Airport around 10:30 pm on March 16.

The U.S. government plans to return those who wish to return to the United States on a cruise ship "Diamond Princess" by charter aircraft.

The two chartered aircraft arrived at Haneda Airport around 10:30 pm on the 16th.

When the charter aircraft arrived, people believed to be wearing protective clothing were working on loading the luggage inside the aircraft.

According to the Ministry of Defense, there are about 380 U.S. nationals on board the cruise ship, and passengers will board the SDF bus to Haneda Airport around 11 pm after leaving the ship.

The charter aircraft is expected to leave Haneda Airport for the United States early in the morning of March 17.
