Banksy's new work, revealed on Valentine's Day in Bristol, in the south-west of England, was found vandalized on Saturday, according to several images circulating on social networks.

The elusive artist had published on his Instagram account two photos of his new work on Friday: a little girl shooting with a slingshot, seeming to explode a wreath above her head. He thus put an end to speculation by the inhabitants of Bristol, who wondered whether or not the artist was behind this new creation which appeared on their streets on Thursday.

Immediately vandalized

But the work has since been vandalized: several photos circulating on social networks show it covered with a pink tag in the shape of a heart and the inscription "BBC Wankers" ("Les branleurs de la BBC").

Already in early December, a passer-by had vandalized a mural of Banksy in Birmingham (central England), adding a red nose to the two reindeer who were pulling a real bench where someone was sleeping. The work, supposed to highlight the issue of homeless people in the United Kingdom, has since been put under glass.
