Two men were sentenced to ten years in prison by the Orleans Assize Court on Wednesday, after being found guilty of armed robbery, followed by forcible confinement, committed at the home of the president of the Emmaüs du Loiret community in 2017.

The accused, aged 21 and 23, already convicted multiple times for acts of robbery and violence, in a repeat state, incurred life imprisonment.

The two men, armed with a pistol, entered the house of the president of the Emmaüs du Loiret community, located in Ingré (Loiret), in search of a safe.

The attackers then attacked the retired septuagenarian couple, in the presence of their grandson, then three years old.

Failing to find a safe, the two individuals drove off the couple's German 4x4, carrying a bank card, a tablet and a laptop.

A third accused, aged 27, was sentenced to one year in prison for receiving the vehicle.
